Ira Hoffman
Chief Executive Officer
Ira leads project management, sales and support at HighRes. Ira personally ensures every customer and every project receives a high level of attention and support.
Prior to joining HighRes, Ira was Director of Research and Development at Freedom Sciences, where he developed innovative robotic hardware for people with limited mobility. Before that he was at Merck for six years, where he led many successful projects for various screening groups at Merck, including the integration of systems capable of screening 1 million samples in less than a week, the development of an enterprise data warehouse for capturing and reporting screening results, the development of analytical approaches for combining screening results with chemical structure, and the implementation of real-time, automated quality control monitoring of screening processes. Ira graduated with a BS in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Vermont, and an MS in Computer Science from Villanova University.

Ulysses Gilchrist
Chief Operating Officer
Ulysses joined HighRes in 2015. He has responsibility for leading product development, operations and quality. He has greater than twenty years of experience in the development and manufacturing of precision robotics and automated systems for use in high throughput high reliability applications.
Prior to joining HighRes, Ulysses spent the last 19 years at Brooks Automation where he was Vice President of Robotics Engineering and was responsible for product and technology development for the companies leading robotics platforms. He also spent time as a research engineer at MIT’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory developing humanoid robots. He holds more than 25 patents in the areas of robotics and automation. Ulysses has both BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Sandy Grindley
Chief Financial Officer
Sandy joined HighRes in 2017. Prior to becoming CFO, he was the Director of Liquid Handling and responsible for launching and scaling Prime™, HighRes’s automated liquid handling platform.
Prior to joining HighRes, Sandy was a member of the corporate development team at Axel Johnson, HighRes’s parent company, where he split his time evaluating new investment opportunities and working on special initiatives across the Axel Johnson group of companies. Before joining Axel Johnson, Sandy worked at Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm, advising clients on strategy and operational improvements primarily in the health and life sciences and grocery retail industries. He started his career at Bright Power, a startup focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Sandy received his Bachelors in Biology from Yale University.

Vladimir Zhirnov
Vice President of Software
With HighRes since its founding, Vlad leads the development and support of the company’s industry-leading software products.
Prior to his position with HighRes, Vladimir was at Enabling Technologies where he led software development and commissioning of robotic systems for research. Vladimir has 20 years experience leading various automation and software efforts within the pharmaceutical industry. He holds a degree in Nuclear Engineering from Obninsk Institute of Atomic Energy in Russia.

Brian O'Sullivan
Senior VP Commercial
Joining HighRes in March 2014, Brian’s focus is to build a dynamic, global commercial organization for HighRes that exceeds client expectations and drives revenue growth.
Brian joined HighRes after six years at Agilent Technologies where he held global business development leadership roles within the company’s Research Products and Automation business divisions. Prior to Agilent, Brian played an instrumental role in developing the business and the global account management program at Velocity11. Prior to V11, he held business and scientific roles at Beckman Coulter and Applied Biosystems. He holds a BS in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Jack Dawson
Vice President of European Operations
Jack joined HighRes in 2008. Jack holds overall responsibility for the development and execution of HighRes’ business in the European territory, while serving as a member of the company executive team.
Jack joined HighRes after five years at AstraZeneca where he worked as a Research Scientist responsible for laboratory automation and assay development. Jack graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Genetics from The University of Nottingham.

Jodi Herncjar
VP Customer Service
Jodi Herncjar has joined HighRes Biosolutions as Vice President of Customer Service and will be responsible for assuring high value and high-quality service and support to HighRes customers.
Prior to joining HighRes, Jodi spent three years at Biosero in their transition to software support and implementation of service systems. She has 20 years’ experience in direct service management of life sciences instrumentation support, followed by the development and implementation of global support organizations for Sequenom and Agena Bioscience. Jodi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Physics from Monmouth College.
