CellarioScheduler 4.4 Release

Written by HighRes Biosolutions | Aug 27, 2025 8:39:06 PM

At HighRes, we’re committed to continuously improving CellarioScheduler, adding features that make daily automation easier, faster, and more reliable, while investing in the foundational technologies that keep your lab running securely and efficiently.

CellarioScheduler 4.4 builds on this commitment with a brand-new Operator UI, expanded compliance tools, and the new DriverHost, all designed to streamline workflows and reduce the barrier to running your automation reliably and with the utmost productivity.

Key Enhancements in 4.4

Automation For Everyone: Meet the New Operator User Interface in CellarioScheduler

In today’s labs, automation is no longer optional, but complexity shouldn’t be the price of adoption. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the new Operator User Interface in CellarioScheduler: a streamlined, guided experience designed to make automation accessible to everyone in the lab, not just the experts.

Whether you’re a lab technician loading labware, a scientist launching a protocol, or an engineer fine-tuning performance, the new Operator UI empowers you to interact with automation quickly and confidently.

Bridging the Accessibility Gap in Lab Automation

At HighRes, we believe automation should be a team-wide asset and not something only a select few can control. But in many labs, even today, automation interfaces remain overly technical or unintuitive, leaving day-to-day users feeling locked out of the process.  The Operator UI closes that gap.

It reflects our commitment to **human-centered automation**, where every member of the lab can meaningfully engage with the tools that power their research. It's approachable without compromising capability while enabling both novice and advanced users to get the job done without hesitation.

Operator Experience Overview

We designed the Operator UI to simplify the most common tasks lab operators perform every day while also enabling faster recovery when things don’t go as planned.

Guided Order Creation: A step-by-step visual flow helps users set up orders correctly, with built-in labware placement guidance and ratio support.

Real-Time Progress: A visual timeline lets operators track progress at a glance, reducing uncertainty and increasing confidence.

Error Recovery Made Simple: Common interruptions are met with clear, actionable recovery options with no need to dig through logs or call for help.

Protocol Lock-In: Only validated protocols are available for launch, ensuring compliance while reducing noise and confusion.

Designed for All Roles:  Whether you're a technician, scientist, or engineer, the interface adapts to your needs and skill level.

The Fastest Path from Idea to Execution

The new Operatory UI is a continuation of our vision that automation should accelerate discovery, not get in its way. The Operator UI removes unnecessary friction so your team can focus on what matters most: the science.

As we said in our recent blog post on lab automation, automation should be useful to everyone, every day. This release brings that vision to life.

Better Protocol Visualization

Protocol images can now be stored directly in the database in addition to offline PNG files. If a preview was missing in the Operator UI, it’s now automatically generated — giving teams an at-a-glance view of workflows and making protocol identification easier.

Expanded Audit Trail for Compliance & Troubleshooting

Audit coverage has been broadened to track more system activity, including:

  • User and protocol management
  • Autorecovery events
  • System state changes
  • Maintenance actions
  • Order run simulations
  • Script library updates

This ensures greater traceability for regulated environments and faster troubleshooting when issues arise.

The New DriverHost

CellarioScheduler now features a next-generation DriverHost as a long-term replacement for the Remote Driver Wrapper. It improves device communication reliability and performance, while laying the foundation for future capabilities including remote driver updates.

Continuous Investment in CellarioScheduler

CellarioScheduler 4.4 reflects our ongoing focus on delivering both user-driven enhancements and long-term technology investments. Whether it’s a more intuitive operator experience, deeper customization options, or stronger compliance tools, this release strengthens your lab’s ability to operate efficiently and securely.
