Beverly, MA – Today, HighRes Biosolutions founder and CEO Lou Guarracina announced his decision to step down as CEO of the company, enabling him to focus on new technology development. He will remain on the board of the company, and will become its Chief Technology Officer. Guarracina founded HighRes in 2004 based on the unique MicroDock/MicroCart technology, delivering performance, modularity, and flexibility to clients worldwide.

Peter Harris is the new CEO at HighRes Biosolutions. Peter has been on the board of HighRes for the past two years, and was previously Chairman and CEO of Cadence, Inc., a high technology manufacturer of medical devices. Most recently he served as Vice President and Managing Director of Axel Johnson, Inc., the majority owner of HighRes.

“From the time I founded HighRes twelve years ago, my passion has always been on the conceptualization and development of leading technologies for lab automation and scientific discovery. There are so many new product ideas to pursue for HighRes, but the task of running the company on a day-to-day basis has limited my ability to focus on what I love. I look forward to staying involved, and helping the company continue its technological leadership in the industry,” said Guarracina. “I have known and worked with Peter for many years, and believe the company is in good hands.”

“It’s a tremendous honor to follow Lou as CEO of HighRes,” said Harris. “His vision, and the hard work of all the HighRes employees over the last twelve years, has led to incredible growth and future opportunity. I am excited to continue the work that has been done, and work with the company’s employees and customers to continue bringing leading laboratory automation solutions to advance scientific discovery and ultimately human health.”
