Plate Delidders and Orientation

Automated Microplate Delidders and Orienters

Automated laboratory microplate delidders and plate orientation devices support smooth, rapid workflows. They eliminate the need to wait for robotic arms to complete common tasks such as managing microplate lids or orienting microplate positions.

LidValet

High-Speed Delidding Hotel

LidValet rapidly removes, holds, and replaces most microplate lids; freeing automated robotic arms to tend to other tasks.

Rectangle
LidDiscard

High-Speed Delid-to-Waste Device

LidDiscard rapidly removes microplate lids, including metal lids, and moves the lids to a waste receptacle while automated robotic arms tend to other tasks.

PlateOrient

Labware Orientation Device

PlateOrient automatically rotates labware into a landscape or portrait position before loading to an automated device while automated robotic arms tend to other tasks.

FAQs

How much air pressure does LidValet require? add remove

The incoming air pressure should be at least 70 psi, with the ideal being 100 psi, and no more than 120 psi for LidValet to delid properly.

Why is the plate lifting during lid separation? add remove

Plate lifting is typically due to a lift speed that is too fast. LidValet’s upper and lower lift speeds may be adjusted so that plates do not lift when the microplate lid is removed.

How to test LidValet’s operation? add remove

Two tests can evaluate LidValet’s proper function. A cycle test performs 100 delid and lid routines to confirm repeatability. A vacuum test ensures that LidValet can maintain pressure for up to 4 hours.

Where can LidValet and LidDiscard be used? add remove

Both delidders may be used manually or installed in any automated system where the robotic arm has access to both portrait and landscape orientations.
